Unit: Environment and traffic analysis
Title: Researcher
Work description: PhD in 2001 - Deicing salt and roadside environment. Since then researcher in the field of road and transport related environmental research, e.g. winter maintenance, air quality and road dust (road and tire wear particles), multifunctional roadsides, landscapes and EIA-methods.
Curriculum Vitae
Research fields:
- Fate of transport related pollution (sources, generation, emission, dispersion, effects) on the environment (air, soil, groundwater and vegetation). Examples: Winter maintenance (residual salt, salt dispersion, salt damaged vegetation), road wear (studded tires).
- Air quality research: sampling, monitoring and analysis with TEOM, APS, SMPS, DustTrak, IVL-samplers, and electron microscopy (SEM/EDX).
- Environmental geophysics, e.g.: detection and mapping of pollution with magnetic susceptibility (Bartington MS2), monitoring residual salt on road surfaces (SOBO20).
- Landscape related research and multifunctional roadsides.
